Giancarlo Kerg

I completed my Ph.D. in Computer Science at Université de Montréal / Mila, where I worked with Yoshua Bengio and Guillaume Lajoie. My research focused on machine learning, recurrent neural networks, inductive biases, and information processing in artificial neural networks.

I am also actively involved in mathematics education and Mathematical Olympiads. At the 2026 International Mathematical Olympiad in Shanghai, I authored Problem 1 and served as Deputy Leader of the Luxembourg team. From 2025 to 2026, I taught mathematics at the Athénée de Luxembourg, and I continue to train students in Luxembourg's Mathematical Olympiad program.

Before my Ph.D., I studied Pure Mathematics at the University of Cambridge, completing Part III of the Mathematical Tripos, and at the Université Libre de Bruxelles.
